Sree Vishnu’s #Single just released and the film has been garnering good sales at the box office. After ‘Samajavaragamana’ Sree Vishnu saw a beeline of flops, however his choice of films wasn’t considered bad. After Allari Naresh changing his track from comedy to serious cinema, Tollywood seems to have found a comedy hero in the form of Sree Vishnu. Does #Single live up to expectations?
The film has Sree Vishnu playing a bank employee, who is a chill guy throughout. He and his close pal Vennela Kishore are seen to be having fun all day long. Sree Vishnu gets to see a girl (played by Ketika Sharma) and falls in love with her instantly.
However, the trials do not fetch desired results at the start. The moment he gets close to Ketika Sharma, life takes a sudden turn when another girl (played by Ivana) comes into his life!
Sree Vishnu is stuck between Ketika and Ivana and the rest of the story is whether he gets to stay with one, or both, or turns single once again!
The first half of the film is full of gags and most of them do work out. The story is slow paced but the camaraderie between Sree Vishnu and Vennela Kishore steals the show. Their scenes have turned out to be fun and that’s what keeps the interest going.
Ketika Sharma looks peppy and she gets to deliver a meaty act. Ivana gets introduced to Tollywood in a direct Telugu film (Love Today being her first release in Tollywood) and she doesn’t disappoint. Her screen presence is top notch.
The second half of the film starts slowly but with the entry of senior actor Rajendra Prasad, the film turns it’s tide and gets into the groove once again. The climax is fine but it could have actually worked out even better if the background music was better. The background score proves to be a minus for the film as well as the songs. This is a perfect example of a film wherein a bad background music kills the goosebump moments, whereas it could have done wonders to some sequences.
Overall, #Single is a good time pass film if you leave logics at some places. Entertainment is there and the audience would find it to be a decent comedy film. You can definitely go watch the film to beat the summer heat and also have some healthy laughs generated due to real-life meme episodes that have been used in the film.
