Saiyaara: Movie Review
Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda’s debut vehicle SAIYAARA has released today with a lot of pre-release buzz. Directed by Mohit Suri and having the backing of YRF, the film created good publicity, thanks to its trailer and the songs.
Ahaan plays Krish Kapoor, who is an upcoming singer cum musician. He gets in touch with Vaani, played by Aneet, who is a writer. Their worlds collide and starts the mushy romance. However, both of them have a past that they are dealing with! What’s that past? It’s for you to see at the cinemas.
Both the characters compliment eachother in the film and they get to see their dreams come alive. But, there are quite a few small twists that make them get apart from eachother. What are those twists? Will they reunite at the end? That forms the crux of the story.
Director Mohit Suri is back to his best by working on the emotional romantic stories. His direction is very classy and fits the bill. The production values are good.
Music is by a beeline of known musicians and it is indeed good. However, expect the title track, none of the other songs stay with you once you are out of the theatre. The BG score by John Eduri is apt.
Ahaan Pandey shines in his role. For a debutant, it’s a very good act by him and he is definitely here to stay! His chemistry with Aneet Padda works big time. Aneet is exceptional in her part and she can be the next big thing if she picks the right characters.
Overall, Saiyaara has its moments at most places. The 156 minute runtime doesn’t feel like a stretch, except one or two scenes in the first half.
Saiyaara is a film that will work well if you are high on your EQ – emotional quotient. It’s the quissential love between the lead pair that hits the chords. If you are old school in love, then you would like the film for sure. Do watch it with your loved ones (that includes family).
