Director Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar’s combo has always delivered goodness at the box office. With Bhoot Bangla, their combo delivers a decent film yet again.
Akshay Kumar plays a role which requires him to complete his sister’s (Mithila Palkar) marriage with her lover at any cost at their ancestral bangla. However, his father (Jisshu Sengupta) asks him not to due to a horror past. After learning about it from his dad and also experiencing it in the bangla, Akshay sticks to his ground to complete the marriage duties of his sister. Will he be able to complete it or will he find any mishaps occuring forms the crux of the story.
Akshay plays his role well and we get to see the vintage him in this film. His scenes with Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav are definitely engaging. Mithila Palkar looks cute and gives her best. Jisshu Sengupta looks young to play Akshay’s father but he does a neat job. Wamiqa Gabbi is gorgeous but has a limited screen time.
Tabu is there but she fails deliver her magic because her role doesn’t have the scope. Bhavana Pani is seen after a long time and she is good in her part.
Music is decent on the screen while the cinematography is top notch. The editing could have been tightened in its second half. The first half is laced with breezy comedy without going over the top and that is what clicks. The second half moves to the backstory and it gets a little serious with horror elements.
Overall, Bhoot Bangla is a film which is decent and can be watched with the family. Already, it’s raking in a good moolah at the box office. You can go for it!
