Indian National Cine Academy (INCA) Announced as a Pan-India Platform

Uniting 12 Film Industries; Producers Guild of India Associates as Chief Patron and Institutional Partner.

In a significant step towards building a unified national platform for Indian cinema, the Indian

National Cine Academy (INCA) was formally announced today.

Envisioned as a long-term institutional initiative, INCA aims to bring together 12 Indian film

industries to celebrate excellence, foster collaboration, and strengthen India’s cinematic ecosystem

through transparent and inclusive processes.

INCA is founded by Vishnu Vardhan Induri, the founder of two of India’s most successful

entertainment properties the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) and the Celebrity

Cricket League (CCL). Over the years, Vishnu Induri has been widely recognised for creating enduring

industry platforms that combine scale, credibility, and long-term relevance.

A National Institution for Indian Cinema

INCA has been conceived not merely as an awards show, but as a national cinematic institution. The

platform will feature a two-day format, comprising an Indian Cinema Conclave with panel discussions,

workshops, masterclasses, and policy conversations, followed by the INCA Awards Night, which will

honour excellence across artistic and technical categories from all participating film industries.

By bringing together Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi,

Bhojpuri, Assamese and Odia cinema on one platform, INCA seeks to encourage cross-industry

collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and peer-driven recognition.

Producers Guild of India Associates with INCA

As part of this vision, the Producers Guild of India has agreed to associate with INCA as Chief Patron

key institutional partner, lending its leadership and industry perspective to the platform.

Through this association, the Producers Guild of India will provide leadership and guidance in building

INCA’s national framework, including coordination with film industry bodies nationwide, curating

best-practice knowledge sessions, and reinforcing governance, transparency, and process credibility.

Mr. Shibasish Sarkar, President, Producers Guild of India, said:

“INCA represents an important step towards bringing Indian cinema together on a truly national

platform. As the industry continues to grow across languages and regions, it is essential to have credible

institutions that encourage collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and transparent recognition. The

Producers Guild of India looks forward to engaging with INCA in shaping conversations that benefit

filmmakers and producers across the country.”

Speaking about the launch of INCA, Vishnu Vardhan Induri said:

“Indian cinema today enjoys unprecedented national and global recognition, yet we continue to operate

in silos. INCA is an effort to create a platform that belongs to the entire Indian film fraternity, one that

celebrates excellence, encourages collaboration, and builds a shared national identity for Indian

cinema. I am grateful for the support and guidance of the Producers Guild of India as we begin this

journey.”

Transparent & Inclusive Awards Process

The INCA Awards will follow a robust and democratic selection process, including industry-wide

voting by members of recognised film bodies, and independent third-party audit and validation. This

framework is designed to ensure credibility, fairness, and true peer recognition across all film

industries.

The inaugural edition of INCA is planned as a two-day national event, bringing together filmmakers,

producers, actors, technicians, OTT platforms, policymakers, and global stakeholders, marking a new

chapter in the evolution of Indian cinema
