Hello folks! In this episode of #BlabwithSandy, we have actress, influencer, writer, producer, and many things packed in one – Anisa Butt with us!😊 You have seen her sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Aditya Roy Kapur in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and other films. It’s been a while that we have blabbed together, so let’s wait no further and dive into the exciting blab:
Sandy: Anisa, how’s your Life in London treating you?
Anisa: (Big Smile) Always a bit of a rollercoaster. Life is good. I’m grateful for the journey.

Sandy: What’s going on in the acting front?
Anisa: So last year I produced a play for the first time. I’ve been an executive producer on a play called Permission. We are currently in our run at Tara Theatre London! It’s so exciting. It’s the second time I’m producing and acting in this play, so it’s close to my heart. Since the last run in 2024, both the writer (Hunia) and I, have been on quite the mission with the show. We raised Arts Council Funding and with their support begun reaching out to theatres. We achieved a sold out run last year and now we’re back with this new collaboration.

In Permission I play the role of Hanna. Hanna is a young Pakistani woman navigating life, what freedom means to her and also understanding the political landscape and her values. Over the course of the play she moves to London to study at university, only to realise that there are some things in life we cannot run away from.

Sandy: I gotta know that you also turned into a producer! What’s it like jumping into producing? Jitters or it came easy for you?

Anisa: I love being a producer as well because it allows me to do what I think I’m naturally good at, which is bringing people together. I have a lot more agency in the work I do. Whilst it’s a challenge doing both, we have been very lucky to have a wonderful team supporting us. I have learnt a hell of a lot in this process.
Sandy: If someone wants to be a guest on the show, what is the criteria and how do they take things ahead?

Anisa: They can email me! Details are on my tik tok page and IG page – (unplugwithani). I would need them to send in a bio and their work links.

Sandy: You have coached people before. What kind of people do you work with and how can people get in touch if they want to get onto it?
Anisa: Thanks for asking. I work with a very select number of people, as I do take this process very seriously and it takes a considerable amount of energy to work with a client.

Please email me and we can take it from there! I have a short process involved with client selection and then we have a short call to make sure its the right fit to work together. I thoroughly recommend working with a coach/therapist for about 4 to 6 months on the minimum to get the maximum benefits.
Sandy: What is the 8 day Emotional Reset programme about? Who is it for?

Anisa: The programme is something I wanted to design for people who are curious about the self growth world and want some very manageable tools to help them on this journey. So if you’re currently feeling a bit lost, stuck, scared of saying no, tired of not asserting your boundaries, navigating difficult relationships and or struggling with your own self love and worth. This is for you. It’s super accessible and you can watch the videos in your own time. And keep them forever.
Sandy: We loved you in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and other Bollywood films! We can’t wait to see you again in a Bollywood film. 🙂

Anisa: Ah well, they know where to find me 😊
