Blab with Sandy: Karina Trygubchak

Hello people! In this episode of #BlabwithSandy, I have the much famous health, body, and posture trainer, Karina Trygubchak with me. ☺️ Karina has a huge fan base allover the world, for her unique body based videos and tutorials, which help people understand the nuances of basic posture yoga techniques. She has amassed huge followers worldwide and her programs are a hit with the audience. Let’s wait no further and dive into the lovely blab that we had:

Sandy: Hello Karina, hope you are doing as lovely and as flexible as you are! 🙂

Karina: Hi! I’m doing great — still bending in every direction! 🙂 Thanks for checking in!Sandy: Could you throw some light on your background?

Karina: I was born in Donetsk, Ukraine, and lived there until the beginning of the full-scale war. When Russia invaded in 2022, I had to leave the country with my son.

Since then, we’ve been searching for a new place to call home. I don’t know if we’ve truly found it yet, but I’m deeply grateful for how the world opened its doors to Ukrainians.

Movement has always been a part of my life. I began training in athletics at the age of 12, and later studied at the Olympic Reserve College. After that, I continued my education at the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, where I explored human anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics in greater depth.

My path has always been connected to the body — through both movement and learning. And I never stopped. To this day, I continue to study and expand my knowledge, taking advanced courses in fields ranging from psychology and psychosomatics to endocrinology and functional health.

I’m also a mother and a wife — my 9-year-old son is a constant source of insight and inspiration on this journey.

Sandy: How and when did your wellness journey began? Was there an incident that brought/changed your outlook towards wellness? Or was it your field of interest since the beginning?

Karina: My wellness journey didn’t start with interest — it started with a need.

I wasn’t clinically unwell, but I felt overloaded, anxious, disconnected from myself.

I turned to the body for answers — through movement, breath, anatomy, and physiology. Step by step, I rebuilt the connection.

At first, it was personal. But then I realized my approach could help others too. And that’s how it all began — not through extremes, but through awareness, respect, and consistency.

Sandy: Did you study any courses, or your own zeal and interest got you learning about body and face posture techniques?

Karina: As I mentioned, I have a background in physical education, so anatomy, movement, and biomechanics have always been part of my foundation.

But I didn’t stop there. I keep learning — taking courses, exploring posture through neurophysiology, psychosomatics, and fascial systems. I combine science with practice, observe, test, and refine.

So yes, it started with interest — but over time, it became a deep, structured system that truly works.

Sandy: Body posture is an important aspect for all. However, few get to understand it’s importance. How difficult or how easy has it been for you to generate interest amongst people towards its importance?

Karina: At first, it wasn’t easy. People didn’t associate posture with facial aesthetics.

I was likely one of the first — if not the very first — to speak publicly and at scale about how facial symmetry, double chin, puffiness, and dark circles are most often linked to posture.

Once I showed how working with posture could transform the face, the interest exploded. People saw real results, and the topic finally received the attention it had long deserved.

In a way, I helped turn this into a trend. Today, you can find countless followers on social media who have embraced this approach and are now developing it in their own unique ways

Sandy: Facial Yoga (as it’s fondly called) has been churning out it’s presence offlate. Your videos depict easy techniques to learn and practice all about it. Do you feel that western countries have adapted it quickly than the rest? From what all countries do you get more queries from? How has the reception been towards your face yoga teachings?

Karina: Facial yoga is being lovingly embraced around the world — and I love that. Though in my approach, it’s more than yoga. It’s about deep work with the muscles, fascia, circulation, and lymph flow of the face.

Western countries adapted it very quickly — especially the US, Canada, and the UK. But I also receive a lot of interest from Germany, Italy, India, and Arabic-speaking countries.

People feel the results. My methods are easy to integrate into everyday life, and the impact is visible fast. That’s why my audience has grown so globally.

Sandy: Wellness journey has become a necessity for everyone. If you look at your wellness journey, how would you like to describe it ? From learning yourself to enriching all your followers now, you indeed have come a long way! 😀

Karina: For me, wellness isn’t a destination — it’s a journey back to myself. It started with physical discomfort, fatigue, and lack of structure — and evolved into awareness, discipline, and self-kindness.

This path taught me how to truly listen to myself and build inner stability. Only then did I begin sharing it with others.

My journey isn’t perfect — but it’s real, alive, and honest 😊 And I’m proud that it now inspires hundreds of thousands of people around the world.

– A habit of yours that you’d like to change: I sometimes forget to rest — I’m learning to step back

– A one-minute exercise routine that you can let us know in words :): Take 3 deep breaths. Stretch your arms up, open the chest. Roll shoulders forward and backward. Fold forward, release your neck. Gently tap your face and collarbones. Stand tall, smile, and reach again — you’ve already shifted your energy

Sandy: A piece of advice that you’d like to give to your followers.

Karina: Act out of love and respect for yourself — not guilt, not pity, and not to gain approval from others.

Start small. A glass of water in the morning. 10–15 minutes of stretching. A little movement.

At first, it’s a choice. Then it becomes a habit. And then — a lifestyle.

That’s what self-care really is. That’s your inner ground.

And that’s where true, lasting change begins 🙌🏽

Sandy: India is known as the land of Yoga and many Indian wellness enthusiasts follow you. How has your experience been with the Indian community, with regards to your followers as well as their reception to your health tutorials and wellness sessions?

It’s been meaningful to see my Indian audience grow. They’re thoughtful, mindful, and genuinely open to my approach, often resonating with the deeper layers of the practice.

I receive kind messages and warm feedback, and I truly value that my work finds a place in a culture where caring for both body and spirit is a natural part of life ☺️
